Ellen & Will // film grain experiment

I thought it was about time to show you one of my FAVORITE weddings from this past summer. Will & Ellen. From the sentimental Catholic ceremony to the epic dance party, every part of this wedding was filled--filled to the brim!!--with love. Do you see the little ring bearer? He's the nephew of the bride and groom, and he LOVES Will. Just clung to him so sweetly. Their love for him was absolutely touching. I can't wait for my siblings to have kids so I can love on them like Will and Ellen loved on their little nephew. Who cares that my sister is only 16.... (don't they have a reality show or two she could take part in? Worth it for a cute little niece or nephew! ) Thank you Amy, of Amy Michelle Photography for this amazing opportunity to second shoot with you!I edited these photographs with VSCO film, which amazed me with how perfectly it transforms digital files into "film." I melt for grain. Grain grain grain. Mmmmhhhmm. Some of the pictures you'll see are very noisy and grainy just because I wanted to push the buttons on my new software to see how far I could take it. What do you think? In today's world, I'd say most people love the smooth, grainless photos made with digital ISO of 100 or lower. What do you like? I'm curious. Part of my realllly wishes my birth year was 1940-something so I could grow up in the film world. I would love to shoot with 3200 film at dusk to see the real film grain...I guess VSCO will have to suffice at the moment :) I must say, it's pretty awesome. Vintagey photographs, here we come. For now, I better sign off. It's Christmas Eve, and I can't wait for our candlelit Christmas service and a traditional night of chili dogs and coconut cake at my Aunt Pam and Uncle David's house. My Uncle David picks out underwear for my sister and me every year. I'm convinced he gets a funny kind of satisfaction in shopping at Victoria's Secret. He's hilarious. And I can literally taste my Aunt Pam's cake right now....ahhhh CAN'T WAIT!
