allyssa & josh // fort collins wedding photography

This is the first wedding post of the season! I'm stoked. What a great way to start a wonderful summer of photographing love, life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness. (Or something like that...)

I feel like people tell me all the time that the kind of love that you see in the movies-- that head over heels, smitten to the soul, knee-shaking, all-consuming passionate kind of love-- doesn't really exist in everyday Joe Schmoe life. You need to seek out a companion, a friend, a great conversationalist, they tell me. Which is true, but Allyssa & Josh are pretty much punching those people in the face with their love.I've known Allyssa since sophomore year of college where we met at an epic dance party. I believe I was wearing a cheerleader costume, and she was dressed like a deck of cards. And like in every good chickmance, the cheerleader and the playing card became instant friends. I met Josh back in October and really had the chance to see these two together on New Year's Eve, which is, let's be real, one of the most romantic nights of the year. So when they were kissing and hugging and dancing and laughing and acting CRAZY in love, I thought, "Wahooo!!! Happy New Year's!" and smiled as they squished themselves into an oversized chair and counted down to the epic smooch.Months later, when I saw them again, NOTHING CHANGED.  New Year's Eve is every single, adorable day for these two. Constant love & affection. Dear Mr. and Mrs. Taves, don't ever let people tell you that you're just in the "honeymoon stage" of your relationship or that the romantic fire you feel now will fizzle and sizzle in the hizzle (?). It won't. You guys are perfectly crazy in love, and I have no doubt you'll be the sickeningly cute 80-year-old couple making out on the park bench in front of all those darn hoodlums. Thank you so much for giving me such an amazing day filled to the brim with your timeless, epic, over-the-top wonderful love. Happy one-month anniversary, you two!
