Sophie Goes // to the Laughing Goat

When your hussy (husband) plays a gig at 9pm on a Monday night at The Laughing Goat cafe in Boulder, you take your four-month-old baby, duh. But first, you try out the restaurant Zeal with your bestie because it offers so many healthy options -- plus, tons of vegan dishes if you're into that. Then, you order the vegetable rainbow curry with tofu and eat all. of. it. Afterward, cross Pearl Street and head into the Laughing Goat because it's a pretty happening place for a Monday night, y'all. They have music almost every evening. For those of you who don't know, my huz (husband), Joe, is pretty talented (understatement) when it comes to music. If you like Nickelback mixed with Shania Twain mixed with Panic at the Disco you would probably like his work. So, check it out.But in all seriousness, when you mosey over to his site, listen to a few of his tunes, but if you have a second or two, read the lyrics to some of them. Click on the picture next to each song, and you'll see that most of them have the lyrics posted. I love these. My hoobastank (husband) wrote these about our daughter, Sophie, in the song "Always Be" the week she was born:"You are such a strong lightI forget there's deathBreathing for the first timeForm of grace's depthGod is in this mean timeMore than I have knownHe's already found youI have just begunBut I'll always beIn your first lightIn your darkness in betweenAnd you'll always beIn my good nightIn the current of the stream."Speaking of Sophie, check out this little face (below) as she watches her daddy play his acoustic set. She stared at him with this transfixed expression for thirty solid minutes. This kid adores her dad. I do too.P.S. Special thanks to this couple ^ who snuggled hard core during the love song set. I don't know you, but you're cute.
