Part Two // Jacob & Caitlin // Evergreen, Colorado
Oh goodness, this wedding. The word that comes to mind when I think of Jacob and Caitlin's wedding is: glorious. I won't go on and on (like I did last time) but I will say this wedding was strikingly beautiful and so honoring to their friends, family, and to the Lord. Without any doubts, their wedding glorified the sanctity of marriage and the precious nature of that union. Caitlin & Jacob are such gifted, wonderful people. Caitlin has been serving as a missionary on a college campus in Georgia while Jacob is pursuing his doctorate in literature (he was just accepted into the University of Denver's program, woot woot!), and both have a passion for learning and for people. Already, they have taught me so much about what it means to marry with intention and purpose, with commitment and fervor. I am quite certain the Lord brought us together so I could be reminded of what if means to live a life of curiosity, ambition, and devotion (qualities these two truly share). On the way home, Joe (my husband, who second shot this wedding with me) and I recapped the whole day in a kind of wonderful exhale: the awe of the Cathedral, the overwhelming beauty of the mountains on the way to the reception in Evergreen, the bonds of brotherhood Jacob shares with his sibling, the sweetness of all the little babies who shared in this day, the animation of the couple's first-dance-swing-dance, the awesome rap their friend wrote and recorded for them, the hilarious toasts... and really, how honored we both felt to be a part of all it. I hope you both had a blast in Mexico (Jacob revealed the destination of their honeymoon during their reception.... so awesome!), and thank you so much for the absolute privilege of spending this special day with you both.
