Lakewood Home Session // Colorado Family Photographer

I wrote about this sweet family last summer (and gushed a little too hardcore parcore, probably), but as a new foursome, this crew is crushing it. Here's what I learned from the Warrick family, take two.

  1. Reschedule newborn photos if you want to. Your baby is going to be just as squishy and adorable at four months as four days. And just maybe, just maybe, you'll have a little more sleep and a little more sanity at that point.

  2. Don't worry too much about getting the perfect sibling picture. They end up looking too posed, in my opinion, anyway. Because, let's be real: Sometimes your toddler will lay her hand delicately on her brother's head at just the right time as the photographer clicks away, and sometimes your toddler just wants to take out the dish-scrubbing brush and give the dresser in her bedroom a good once over. Let it be, let it be.

  3. Naked pictures. Of the baby. (Not the adults--in case that needed clarity.) Because baby bellies and tushies and rolls don't last forever. Just like rainbows and snow cones and that feeling you get when you go over a big hill on your bike or in your car and your stomach drops -- you know, all the good things.

  4. Play musical instruments, play pacifier face, play horsey, play doctor, play in the snow.
