Ian & Allison // Golden, Colorado

I am so impressed by Ian and Allison. They are genuine, intelligent (they're both teachers), adventurous, spontaneous and harmonious. On the morning of her wedding, Allison and her girls met up at Rebelle Salon in Denver, and I could immediately tell how much Allison is loved. Same story with Ian and his groomsmen. I felt the same calm, warm, life-giving feeling hanging out with both of these groups. When we drove up to Genesee Park for bridal party photos, I was not surprised in the least when literally every single person in their bridal party turned out to be hilarious (chuck out the spur of the moment dance photo with the girls and the mighty duck reenactment with the guys). In addition, to their sprightly demeanor, these ladies and gents turned out to be  extremely caring, helpful and awash with reverence for their dear friends. What great people. It was such a pleasure for me to hang out with this awesome group (a huge shout out to the groomsman who saved the photographers a slice of cake, what what!)  At the Chief Hosa Lodge Allison and Ian said their vows with the blue of the Rockies behind them. Pine cones and sunflowers and stones and tall pine trees and the occasional deer spotting delineated the perfect mountain wedding. Throughout the day, I would catch them just looking at each other with affection. Their love is warm, unequivocally tangible, and incredibly tender. Then mix in a good amount of hilarity, and you've got Ian and Allison. I'll say it again: I am just so impressed by the lives Allison and Ian lead and the love they have for one another. Thank you both so much for the great honor of having me as your photographer. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness, and I can't wait to hear how you've impacted the lives of hundreds of students. Some of my favorite moments from Ian & Allison's wedding at the Chief Hosa Lodge in Golden, Colorado:- Their dog, Izzy, fell asleep during their ceremony and sprawled out in the aisle.- Allison brought along "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" to help slide Ian's ring on his finger. Genius.- A couple of deer photo-bombed us as we took bridal portraits.- The surprise, choreographed bridal party dance. So fun.- Their 5-year-old ring bearer made an adorable toast to the bride and groom, then had some serious moves on the dance floor. What a stud!
