I woke up yesterday to text messages from friends asking whether or not my family was safe and OK. Startled, I immediately called my mom. She didn't answer. Now a little panicked, I called my brother, and he told me about the shooting in Aurora and that our family was ok. The movie theater is 20 minutes from my house. So real. I am deeply, deeply saddened by the pain and the loss surrounding the shooting, and I am praying for the victims, their families, and for the alleged shooter and his family.Yesterday evening, I had the complete pleasure of snapping engagement photos of two really awesome people, Rachel & Nick. During the last part of the session, the sun set and we found ourselves in a field looking at the enormous, colorful sky and the beautiful Colorado mountains. After the day we Coloradans had, seeing that sunset, well-- it felt like hope.I didn't edit this photograph.
