Amy & Taylor // Downtown Denver

As I sit here typing out this blog post, I can't help but feel somewhat heavyhearted about finishing this project. More than a year before their wedding date, I met up with Taylor and Amy at one of my favorite little cupcake shops in Boulder, and for a while we caught up on life and jobs and memories of In The Buff, the acappella group Taylor and my husband belonged to in college (the same group that performed during their reception!).  They told all about me their perfectly romantic engagement--how Taylor dropped to a knee downtown Denver on a beautiful bridge at night, after taking Amy to see one of their favorite musicals, Les Mis. They told me all about planning their urban wedding at the gorgeous Catholic cathedral downtown and the Tivoli Center on the Auraria campus. They told me about how much they love their families and how excited they were for all of this to come together in one huge celebration.  And while eating cupcakes and chatting about life, they told me how much they loved each other. No words were necessary. I could just see it.And I could see it on their wedding day. These two shine for each other. After dating for six years, it is so very apparent that Amy and Taylor truly know each other. A rare, kindred, deep and long and wide kind of knowing. They share the same sense of humor, the same gentleness, and the same devotion and loyalty to their friends and family. On the day of their wedding, Amy and Taylor shared vows; they shared a kiss; they shared a dance; and they shared a wave as they drove away in their getaway car to start the life they began weaving together as young-and-in-love-freshmen in college. Even more, Taylor and Amy shared themselves. They shared themselves with us on that September, cobalt-skied day. They invited us to witness the solidification of a union we all know will be impenetrable, unbreakable, and adamantine in its substance and character.During our cupcake and coffee date , Amy asked me a question I've kept close to my heart for more than a year and a half now. She asked if I was passionate about taking photographs. I loved that. I loved that she asked me to talk about my passion for photography and photojournalism because I felt like I was meeting someone who cared about more than outward appearance, someone who cared about finding the light and vivacity of life.  From then on, the word "passion' lingered in the back of my mind when I thought about Amy and Taylor. Whether it's music or the Buffs (or cats) or one another, they surround themselves with passion and exude it right back out there into this beautiful world we live in. As I mentioned earlier, tonight I'm feeling heavyhearted as I pass these photos on to this couple-- which really just means my heart is so full for these two and so excited for the future in store for them. Thank you both for sharing your day with my amazing photo partner, Kelsey Bigelow and me. It was an honor and privilege to be there with your friends and family  to celebrate your love. Your wedding day was truly one I'll never forget. Blog-1Blog-2Blog-3Blog-4Blog-7-1Blog-10Blog-11Blog-12-1Blog-13Blog-14Blog-15Blog-16Blog-17Blog-19Blog-21Blog-22Blog-24Blog-25Blog-28-1Blog-32Blog-33-1Blog-34Blog-36-1Blog-37Blog-38Blog-40Blog-42-1Blog-43Blog-44Blog-45Blog-46Blog-47Blog-49-1Blog-50Blog-52Blog-53Blog-54Blog-55Blog-56Blog-57Blog-58Blog-59Blog-60Blog-61Blog-62Blog-63Blog-64Blog-67-0Blog-67-1Blog-68Blog-70Blog-71-1Blog-72Blog-73Blog-75Blog-76Blog-78-1Blog-79Blog-80Blog-81Blog-82Blog-83Blog-84Blog-85Blog-86-2Blog-87Blog-88Blog-89Blog-91Blog-92Blog-93Blog-94Blog-95Blog-97Blog-98Blog-99Blog-101-1Blog-102Blog-104-1Blog-105Blog-106-1Blog-107-1Blog-107Blog-111Blog-113-1Blog-115-1Blog-116Blog-117-1Blog-117-2Blog-117-3Blog-117-4Blog-120Blog-124-1Blog-125Blog-126Blog-127Blog-128Blog-129Blog-131Blog-132Blog-133-1Blog-135Blog-136Blog-137Blog-138-1Blog-140Blog-141Blog-142Blog-143Blog-144Blog-145Blog-146Blog-147Blog-149Blog-151Blog-152Blog-153Blog-154Blog-155Blog-156Blog-157Blog-158Blog-159Blog-160Blog-164Blog-165Blog-166Blog-167Blog-168Blog-169Blog-170Blog-172Blog-173Blog-174Blog-175Blog-176Blog-177Blog-178-1Blog-180Blog-181Blog-182Blog-183Blog-184-1Blog-185Blog-186Blog-188Blog-189Blog-190-1Blog-190Blog-192Blog-193Blog-194Blog-195Blog-196Blog-197Blog-198Blog-201-1Blog-202Blog-203-1Blog-203Blog-204Blog-205Blog-206Blog-207Blog-209-1Blog-211Blog-212Blog-213Blog-215-1Blog-216Blog-217Blog-218Blog-219Blog-220Blog-221Blog-222Blog-223Blog-224Blog-225Blog-226Blog-227Blog-228Blog-229-1Blog-230Blog-232-1Blog-234Blog-235-1Blog-236Blog-239-1Blog-240Blog-241-1Blog-243Blog-244Blog-245Blog-247-1Blog-248Blog-250-1Blog-251Blog-253-1Blog-255-1Blog-256Blog-258Blog-260-1Blog-261Blog-262Blog-263Blog-264Blog-265Blog-268-1Blog-269Blog-270Blog-272Blog-273-1Blog-274Blog-277Blog-278Blog-280-1Blog-282Blog-283Blog-284Blog-286-1Blog-288Blog-289Blog-290Blog-292-1Blog-296Blog-298Blog-299Blog-301-1Blog-304-1Blog-305-1Blog-309Blog-310Blog-311-1Blog-312Blog-314-1Blog-317Blog-318Blog-319Blog-320Blog-321Blog-322Blog-323Blog-325-1Blog-326Blog-328-1Blog-329Blog-330Blog-331Blog-333Blog-334Blog-335Blog-340-1Blog-341Blog-342Blog-343Blog-344Blog-345Blog-346Blog-348Blog-349Blog-350-1Blog-352Blog-353-1Blog-353Blog-356-1Blog-357Blog-358Blog-359Blog-361Blog-362Blog-363Blog-364Blog-366-1Blog-367Blog-368Blog-374-1Blog-374-2Blog-375Blog-377-1Blog-378Blog-379Blog-380Blog-381Blog-382Blog-383Blog-384
